In 1962 I bought a new Ford Galaxie 500 - 406 ci, 405 hp, 4 speed, heavy duty suspension - the works. Did a bit of drag racing at Island Dragway. Tops in the 1/4 was 115 mph which wasn't too bad (I thought) for a led sled off the assembly line. Wish I still had it. Paid a little over $3500 for it - it would be worth a little more than that today!
