“Mr. Small Block” Pete Bicknell Earns His ARRA Page
Ringoes, NJ – Canadian stock car driving sensation, famed car builder, track owner and racing parts business owner, “Mr. Small Block” Pete Bicknell has been long overdue for his entry into the annals of the Auto Racing Research Associates statistical website! Today, the long wait is over!
“I have made no secret of my desire to fully research and document the racing success of St. Catherines, Ontario’s Pete Bicknell!” ARRA President Fred Voorhees admitted at the release of Bicknell’s career win stats. “Pete is a legend in the sport and well respected and loved. Pete has done it all.” Fred mentioned. “He has been a totally successful driver behind the wheel, still winning races at his favorite bullrings. He is the proprietor of Bicknell Racing Products, arguably the most successful builder of stock car chassis in the business...and he has been owner and Promotor of Merrittville Speedway.”
Having inched his way into some sources of Canadian racing stats and information over the past few years, Voorhees has taken full advantage of the new wealth of racing stats of our neighbors to the North, researching Canadian tracks such as Humberstone, Merrittville and Ohsweken Speedways as well as the Ransomville Speedway, which enjoys the weekly competition of many of the Canadian stars. He has also added Canadian sprint car organization – Southern Ontario Sprints.
“With the influx of all of this Canadian racing statistics….it was a natural progression to begin to think about achieving my long term goal of documenting Pete’s career wins!” Fred gleefully revealed. “There have been some drivers that were absolute necessities to have on our ARRA website! Pete has always been one of those drivers, but the lack of consistent, trustworthy availability of stats had been prevalent made it a tedious and seemingly impossible dream to achieve. Now, by co-incidence...the Canadian tracks that I had researched just so happened to be those that Pete was his most successful. This has been a very, very satisfying and dream achieving accomplishment in documenting the over 400 feature event wins for Pete!”
