ARRA Historian Tom Schmeh Pounding Out the Research Projects!!!
Ringoes, NJ – New Yorks Thomas Schmeh..former National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum Curator and now resident historian among the 40 historians of ARRA, Auto Racing Research Associates has been busy in the cold early Winter months tracking down stats and facts on various racing associated subjects. In just the past week, Schmeh has submitted four more projects to the every growing website of auto racing statistics regarding drivers, tracks, racing organizations and series’, race team owners and even individual cars that had very successful and memorable periods in auto racing.
“Before Tom came along, ARRA was an organization of a relative handful of historians.” reveals ARRA President Fred Voorhees in adding the fourth Schmeh submitted file this week to the popular ARRA website. “Tom is always “thinking big”. I welcomed him into our ARRA fold because he was so well versed in sprint car racing and he would be a wonderful compliment to our varied bases of auto racing. Tom quickly recognized the mission of ARRA and soon was hounding me to expand to a national platform.” Voorhees remembers of the year long convincing that it took for Tom to get him to take the plunge.
“Tom was right!” Fred admitted after he decided to take Tom’s advice and open up the flood gates on the stats that would be admitted onto the website. “Since I took Tom’s advice...we have expanded to historians across the country and have significantly increased our auto racing coverage. Tom is probably our most prolific producer of research projects. I myself almost always have a project going. I have been concentrating on individual weekly track results research and currently, I am a few weeks deep into my next track research which is the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville, NY. Tom does lots of smaller projects that are sometimes offshoots of larger projects...but he just keeps grinding these things out!”
The four speedways that have had their partial histories dug into by Schmeh are the Limaland Motorsports Park in Elida, OH….the Paragon Speedway in Morgan Country, IN…..the Bloomington Indiana Speedway in Bloomington and the Kokomo Speedway In Kokomo, Indiana. https://sites.google.com/view/tracks-series-organizations/limaland-motorsports-park
