The hot rod started out as a Tobias framed '37 Ford coupe, which I wrecked in my last race as a driver.  Phil Speno rebuilt the chassis, changing the front suspension from trailer bars to coil/ shocks while replacing the coupe with a Falcon body (courtesy of Lenny Martin).  Phil, being a Ford guy, begrudgingly mounted my Chevy motor back in the car.  I replaced myself behind the wheel with Chic Ronan, my "2nd" dad as I decided I was a much better spectator than a driver!   Scott Ely
