Attached are my models of the Tom Durkin/ Gil Hearne Pinto and its iconic hauler. The Pinto was probably one of my easiest builds as I used the MPC Asphalt Pinto kit. The only "Non MPC" part used was the Troyer hood from Mike's Decals, which I altered the front to resemble Gil's hood. The Ford hauler, which I'm very proud of, started out as AMT's Ford flatbed Coca Cola truck. After discussing my wheelbase problem with Mr. Kevin Eyres, I decided to stretch the hauler's wheelbase about 1.5 in. (in hindsight, should have went a tad further). The business end of the hauler was scratch built. Funny thing about the paint. I used a Behr spray paint (no special order, bought at Home Depot) that had appeared to have a little orange tint to it. BUT, to me, the Pinto and hauler really seem to match the real things color wise. As always, I have to credit Mike Fasig of Polecat Decals for the custom made decals as they make the models look authentic. Scott Ely
