Second Photo down........fender sponsor was Kar Parts in Hazlet. I haven't thought of that place in years! Was one of my "go to" parts houses after Matty's on Lower Main Street in Matawan and 1001 Auto Parts on Route 35 in Keyport. Kar Parts was on Route 36 Eastbound, right after you passed the Holy Family School. And talking about the Bicentennial........the evening of July 4th, 1976 I was an 18 year old kid, manning the Matawan Shell tow truck on the beach in Cliffwood Beach. Had my girlfriend with me and a cooler full of Rolling Rocks! People were parking on the beach to view the NYC fireworks display. My job was to hang around and pull the cars out that got buried up to their axles in the sand. I was pretty busy!
