Can racing get by with Crate motors?  

Interesting question Lenny. Utica Rome typically has a very slick surface that can only hold so much horsepower. I think that's why the modifieds don't look that much faster than the crate cars. I really don't have my finger on the pulse of modified racing anymore but I'm pretty sure there are several "big block" tracks around where everyone runs the spec small block because they are faster.
