...or I guess with so many folks watching events on Flo, maybe we could add "What did you view and how was it for you! Laughing

New Egypt - Attended as a fan in the stands - $27 admission - Modifieds, 305 Sprints, Crates, Outlaw Stocks, Vintage Exhibition

Likes: Well run show, no unnecessary down time, new black clay surface was pool table smooth all night with no touch up needed in between events.  Multiple racing grooves.  Competitive racing in most divisions.  Good size crowd, especially considering that it was pretty chilly.  The place has the "Grosso Touch" again with stuff looking clean/fresh... Fresh paint... "groundscaping"... even the racecar suspended on the pole on the edge of Rt 539 has a fresh wrap on it.  Show started on time, and I left as the last crate feature was taking to the track at about 9:30 or so, and felt that I saw a lot of good racing/good value in the 3 or so hours that I was there.

Really enjoyed the 305 heats/feature, as well as the Modified heats/feature.

Brian Carber had the 305 main in the bag after a strong charge to the front... Yellow came out with one to go in the feature, and Carber pulled off the track with some kind of engine issue...  If the yellow hadn't come out, he could have coasted to the win.... When the green returned, last year's champ Buddy Schweibinz led the final lap for the win.

Matt Stangle worked his way to the front in the modified feature, and looked untouchable for most of the race with Brandon Grosso, Ryan Godown, Wade Hendrickson and Billy Pauch following... As the green flag laps peeled off, you could feel the buzz in the stands as Godown was getting closer... and closer... a little bit each lap, until going into the 3rd turn on the final lap, Godown swept the high side around the #6 of Stangle and took the lead off corner 4, as the checkered flag waved 200' ahead.  Godown made his return to New Egypt in grand style taking the win, with Stangle (while having to be really disappointed in not getting the win) showed that he will be a factor in the Modified division at New Egypt in 2023.

Dislikes:  I don't know what's legal and what's not when it comes to Street Stocks, but it doesn't make for a great fan experience when one car (#19) looks like a purpose built Late Model, and sounds like it has a Runt Pitman engine under the hood, while the rest of the cars in the class look like traditional Street Stocks (Camaro's, Monte Carlo's, etc.)  The #19 must be legal or I don't think they would let it run in the class, but it really is the example of bringing a gun (and I mean a really well made gun) to a knife fight.  I wasn't at Syracuse in 1980, but that #19 is the 2023 version of the Batmobile, with everyone else running for 2nd, and we all know how that turned out.

Suggestions:  Would like to hear the announcer offer interesting driver/team information during yellow flags periods instead of silence, to help keep folks engaged/interested in what they are watching.  I can't hear anything once the green comes out and I doubt if anyone else can either, so when the action stops (yellow comes out), to me, it's a great time to provide info to fans in the stands, and it also maintains the shows momentum, as it carries the fan experience right on through to the next green flag.

Going Back Within a Month:  Yes.  If New Egypt had fallen out of your possible racing venue rotation, it's time to give it another shot.
