Exactly why I never cared for the crates. Not the guys, the engines. Probably a necessary evil for people that want to get started, but they're a huge pain in the azz to tech. BP under Brian Ramey had a good idea with making everyone get dynoed at a designated shop and it seemed to work ok but of course there was the additional expense...but given the alternative it was probably worth it.
As far as catching guys illegal...too f'n bad. Go buy a new one if you monkeyed with it. For every 1 engine that was tampered with there's 5 that weren't....
