I believe the 1st C&L 22 was driven by Paul "Sandy" Rochelle.  The C&L stodd for Chip and Lew.  I'd pass their bowling alley (Slocum's Bowl O Drome) on Route 31 in Ewing, NJ on my way to class at Treton State College (now TCNJ).  Every once in awhile, their hot rod and trailer would be parked in their parking lot.  Scott Ely
