The earlier rounds included Coupes, Sedans, Gremlins, Pintos, Mustangs, Falcons, Vega's, Corvairs, and Chevette's.... Now it's time to move on to Valiant/Lancer bodied racers...

Let us know your choice for your one all time favorite Valiant/Lancer for dirt, and your one all time favorite Valiant/Lancer for asphalt.

When responding, please delete what auto populates in the Subject Line, and replace it with the car# and/or driver's name(s) that you are submitting.  (It'll make it easier for folks to scan the thread and see some of the choices.)

We all have our favorites... Different eras...  Different body styles...  And we all had our favorites.  There were cool coupes... and sedans... and Gremlins... and Pintos, and Mustangs....  and Falcons.... and Chevettes... and Vegas.... and Corvairs.... and Valiants..... (and Chevy II's, and Pacers... and maybe a few others...)

Remember - Just one for dirt, and one for asphalt.

If you have an original picture, and know how to post, please do.  If the car appears somewhere in The Vault, let us know what page, or cut and paste the link here so others will know which particular car you are referring to.

Thanks guys,

3Wide

Saw the K46 race at the Square and liked that car. Never saw Bodines car except in pictures, but always thought that is one of the sharpest look pavement cars ever!

Not too many asphalt ones to choose from, but quite a few for dirt.

Asphalt:  Bodine #99

I see someone above described it as ugly.... Can't imagine anyone who actually saw that car race in person who would describe it as ugly unless maybe back in the day it spanked their favorite coupe or something... But that's ok.  It's an opinion question and we all like what we like, and don't like what we don't like. No explanation needed

The #99 had some trick stuff, won a lot of races, and was one of the coolest cars I've seen on track (dirt or asphalt.)  To me, Geoff brought a gun to a knife fight with this one..... Might be one of the few cars from the 70's that ran at Trenton, at Wall, and it even made an appearance at Flemington for an All Star event.  The way the car was painted complemented the body style and gave the car great balance.  Also had just the amount of rake to it.  Geoff sitting in what would be the backseat, to the point that when he went down the straightaway, all you could see was two arms reaching out of the backseat, holding on to the steering wheel, which was just about where the back of the front seat would have been on a stock production car.

Dirt:  Don Kreitz #69

Don't think I ever saw it run, but or me, this on has just the right look.

Dirt, K46 Tasnady/ Schloerder. Asphalt, 15 Hank Dudley that ran Wall, I think that might have been 4 wheel independent.

Coolest of all, 53 Hank Thomas, I only seen this pic but that thing was wicked. Hope you don't mind a link:
