Surprised Probably not what you expected after reading the Subject Line above, but today's trivia question is, "What car (cars) do you know of that ran a body that had been run previously on another car?"

It could be just the body... or maybe it was the whole car, but the key for this trivia question is that it had to look different (different color... different #... different owner, etc.)

Here's an example - The body from the #4 Matt McMann owned sedan from 1972 & 1973 was painted blue, and renumbered to #292, and was then put on a new chassis that Al Michalchuk built for the 1974 season:

So... what car body do you remember being used on more than one car, and let us know what the different colors/#'s and drivers who drove the "different versions."

Have fun.... 3Wide.

...but I think the coupe body that was on the Norcia 81 that Billy O ran later became the body on the Mulligan car that Sam ran.

The 11 7 Mustang body was 66 K code Mustang(289 hi po). I forget who gave it to us, it had no engine, trans, front fenders. Good sheet metal, I kept the disc brakes and 9" rear, scrapped the rest.

Tim Sassaman had a habit of using the body from one car on another chassis. His first car was an old Rick Thum car using a body from Charlie Svetec’s car. Later on had Fran Callery’s Profile car, with a Gremlin body that used to be on Tom DeLucas 20, the following year it used my old Mustang body.

My brother’s first car, the coupe body was originally on Gil Hearne’s #9, then Kenny Piscitelli’s 4X, that’s who I bought it from.

I remember an article from about 1970 in the Reading Times or Eagle about Eddie Holland at Reading.  He was removing old paint and found "Lee Petty" on the roof.

Any Reading fans remember that?

Yes katman I do, and you beat me to it. He said it had several layers of paint on it, and the last layer had Lee Petty's name on it.

The Hilbert #45 coupe body driven by Freddy Hamm at Dorney Park and other tracks actually raced at Daytona on the beach! I know the body sat on a few chassis in it`s existance. I don`t know any more details?
