I posted this one back in April in the main site from photographer Bob Yurko....  looking over the inside rail at Reading, with Paul and Glenn Fitzcharles racing side by side at (1978.)

I took "a second look" (as the Subject Line says), and thought it was pretty interesting that Bob caught the action just as Glenn had his wheels pointed right (with his left hand moving the wheel to the right) at the same time that Paul has his wheels pointed to the left, (with his right hand cranked all the way over to the left.)

Looks like things were about to get a little closer...

...and that's this week's installment of "Worth a Second Look!"

Comments welcome.

The 96 is way too tight and all Paul can do is stay off the gas and wait for the front end to start to turn left. Glenn's car is turning the corner and he is probably gassing it up already.

Even though I raced on asphalt and in a much lower class, the situation that the outside car is in is no fun. I'd have the left front brake, brake first, I'd hit the brakes and try to bring the back around if that didn't work get off the gas and hope I didn't hit the wall or lose too many spots. Never hit the wall in that situation. I was self taught so I was never sure I was doing anything right.
