For those Northeastern racing fans who remember the Moc-A-Tek Speedway from years past....I just threw up a page for the speedway on our ARRA statistics website.  Those wishing to visit it may get there at the link:

Great job. Not much info out there about this little track tucked away in the Pocono Mountains. When vacationing with my family we would make this out Saturday night spot. Very small and tight with plenty of cautions sometimes making for a very late night.

Was at Moc A Tek twice, actually 2 weeks in a row. Not far from my grandfather's cabin.

Got to go there once with the VW Sprints. It was one of those hole-in-the-wall tracks that had a lot of character. I just remember the tire wall out of turn four and down the frontstretch. It sucked you in like the 1st turn at Flemington.

Went there once to a Charlie Bray race with Stan Janiszewski. It was late in the season and a hurricane hit the area earlier that week. There was water running across the frontstretch from the storm and they just ran thru it. You pretty much just raced around the telephone poles in the infield, lol.

Went there a handful of times in the 80's and once in 2003 before it closed the next yr. It had an elevation change around 3 to maybe 5 feet - you drove down hill thru turns 1 and 2 and then up hill thru turns 3 and 4. I liked the fact that the entire pit area was right behind the stands. I did not like all the ROCKS that were everywhere!

Having only raced at 1/2 mile tracks in NJ for 10 years a 1/4 mile was quite the experience.

Their slogan should have been "Safety Last"

Raced there a couple of times in 1980.  Like driving in a farm field.

I was there once as a spectator. WOW what and experience! Starting with the parts truck with the power lines running across the roof to the rocks everywhere including on the track. I watched a modified guy get in a wreck on track and come in the pits, get out of his car and fix it and then go back out just as they were going grren only to run one lap then back his car into the pits because he forgot his helmet!! I also watched a drive shaft lay on the track for about 8-10 laps before any of the track crew saw it. After that trip I decided I didn't need to go back.

I could almost see the track if it was not windy and they could keep the candles lit (-:
