I spent most of the day Saturday at the Trenton-Mercer Airport photographing the restored CAF WWII aircraft.  Ran into a former star driver from what I consider to be the golden era of East Windsor and Flemington modified competition, The Pink Panther, Larry Kline.  It was great spending a few minutees talking about the cars and tracks from back in the day.

B-29 Superfortress "FIFI", P-51D Mustang "Gunfighter", AT-6 Texan, PT-17 Stearman and a Stinson L-9.  Still digging through those images and from the previous week's WWII Weekend in Reading.  Wish I had shot one of Larry next to one of the warbirds.

I was at Reading also last week. I got sun burnt and dehydrated but it was worth it seeing 2 of my favorite planes fly side by side the F4U Corsairs.

That had to be the same B29 I saw flying around the South Brunswick and Princeton Airport area on Staurday and Sunday.

Met Larry for the first time Bristol dirt weekend. Real nice guy and so is his wife. He met up with Roger and Bonnie Laureno and we all camped together. Great weekend and a few stories!

Pictures of WWII planes are definitely welcome.

I couple years ago, while sitting at my kitchen table, I heard that very unique sound that the old airplane engines make, and ran out onto the deck and sure enough, it was when they were in the state, and they must have been flying from Monmouth Airport (right by Wall Stadium) to West Trenton Airport.

Quite a site and "sound".

I didn't want to make Joe angry posting non racing photos.  2 of mine from Trenton Saturday, P-51 Mustang "Gun Fighter" and B-29 Superfortress "FIFI".

Played golf (actually chasing golf balls in the woods) at Mountainview Golf Course, which is close to the Trenton Mercer Airport.  As I was teeing off , a 2 seater bomber or torpedo plane flew over so low I thought I could count the pop rivets on her belly!  Man that bird was LOUD, but also very pretty!  At least I had an excuse why my drive went awry!  Scott Ely

Fantastic images, Jack! That first one with Reading's Pagoda in the background is an image that the city or event organizers should incorporate into an event publicity poster. Many thanks for sharing.
