Great photos of classic cars! How was the crowd and the racing? I try to get to when I can but had a wedding in Conn. Next year, we should have 3-Widers show up for a pre-race barbecue, party, etc.

I thought it was very enjoyable night.Looking at all of the cars behind the grandstand and seeing many oldtime drivers and many other people you know. It's really worth attending the night. They had a good crowd. The racing i thought was pretty good. The sportsman race was won on the last 1/2 half lap of the feature. The modified race wasn't bad.The one to watch was Jimmy Horton. He started 20th in the feature and finished 2nd.He really put on a show riding up on the high side.Bob Rossell and his wife Carol sat in front of me and Carol was really cheering Jimmy on.Definitely worth attending. The 31 first lap bar was even doing a big business.

WOW a very nice picture of Lenny's 9c and all the cars and drivers...Looks like a fun night...It was a bad time for me to take off work..We just started a second shift and are extremely busy..Maybe next time...Did any of the Old Race Cars pace the field for the feature races??

Howie, how is it you were able to get off work to make all the races you did when you drove, but now your "retired" from racing & you can't get off from work?   Need to get your priorities back in place.  Your were missed at the show

Hey gtgone, for 18 years that I raced I never had much of a steady job...During the 9c era I was building the Burnett rolling chassis. Did about 8/10 every fall/winter/spring to make $$ for my car..I would sleep till noon and work on race cars till 3 in the morning and sleep till noon again pretty much everyday except Sunday and monday. That was carwash and cleanup time and rest time, hang out at the Circle Diner, sort out what we needed to do for the week..I had a few part time jobs when I was running the R-10..But I would go to Philly and help them few nights a week..During Bennys 1A later years I was working at Arts Radiator helping him..If I needed off early it was ok...Fun times but alot of work..was all worth it..HtH

Joe (Sparky), many thanks for sharing these images. As ED mentioned, next year there needs to be a 3Widers gathering at this event.
