Received this from Larry Jendras Jr (Bruce Barmore photo):

2 Questions:

1.  Is this the same car that later became the "Corn Car" or "The Seville?"

2.  For those with programs, or just remember for some reason, was this the late 70's, or early 80's?

Sammy was in that version of the 33 in 1979.

I'm pretty sure that is a "Cricket" car that Jimmy built for his dad.  The Seville was a Buckley built car.  Probably 1979.  I may be wrong, too many years have passed.

I agree with Bob, this was the car Jimmy built for his dad.

Thanks for posting that one Sparky.  Just the right angle, and Sammy is wheelin' that thing!

Back before cars leaned over on the right side and crabbed their way through the corners.

As competitive and exciting as today's racing can be, this picture shows something that I really miss when it comes modifieds, and dirt track racing.

The tracks could very easily get back to that style of racing in the Dirt Modifieds by involking a "DROOP" rule like the Super Late Models have. A narrower and harder RR tire would tend to tighten up the competition also.
