Steve: you are correct, it was the 1970 All Star mid week race at Wall. Flemke was in Rubino's #21 that night as per a previous post where that photo or one just like it was discussed. Bodine was running away with it and got tangled up with a lapped car with 1 or 2 to go and Stives in the 29 won the race. I verified with the ARRA site, date was 8/4/1970 |

What nice looking racecars, can't quite make out what the #51 is, Mustang maybe? The variety of the cars, even the mini's, makes you want to see more. |

My initial reaction to Pic #2 was Charlie Decker. Not sure how or why he would be a Wall related photo, but that was my initial reaction. He was a regular driver at Hatfield Speedway & Nazareth |

Charlie Decker was definitely a Saturday night regular at Wall fot 2 or 3 seasons in the mid to late 60's into the early 70's |

Sometimes I hesitate to answer these questions on supply information because it shows my age! Been going to dirt track racing for 6 decades. Stilll going every week to a track near me & to Volusia in Feb for Dirt Nationals. |

I hear that gtgoneracing.... I started going with my dad to the Sunday afternoon shows at East Windsor in the mid/late 60's, and still can be found sitting in the stands at a local short track somewhere just about every Saturday night from April to October, and sometimes even longer.
Lot's of racing knowledge to be found from all of those out there who visit this site! |
