I checked in with Kevin Eyres over the weekend and he gave the green light that with the support received for this year's Matheny Christmas Party, Santa and his team are in good shape to move forward with the gift gathering, and with putting the rest of the pieces in place for this year's event. 

Although not able to have a party with outside guests as in year's past, Kevin set a goal to have all of the gifts delivered to the school on Dec 16th, so that they could then be presented, with "Santa," on Christmas morning.  The support that you provided will allow this to be possible.

Thank you to all who showed your support through RJC Charities and/or by sending and/or reaching out directly to Kevin.  Thank you also to Earl Krause and to Ernie Saxton for helping to get the word out through their columns in AARN.  Thank you also to the entire Megill Family, who through their support weekly via their novelty stand at New Egypt, along with a very generous offering of the proceeds of this past weekend's Racing Swap Meet, really helped out on the final lap in reaching this year's goal!

Thanks also to racer Ray Liss who offered up some cool 60's/70's bumper stickers for raffle, and to Gene Steele who provided a T-Shirt and Cap from the Vintage American Race Cars (VARC) as well.

As a follow up on the raffle items, we drew two names from all of those who had reached out to us and the winners are:

I say it every year.... we try not to lean on you guys too much around her for donations/etc., but the one time we do ask for your support is in helping the great short track racing community tradition...  started many, many years ago by Sammy Beavers, Mike Grbac, Ace Lane, Ken Kuhlman, Wendy Kennedy... and that is in supporting the Matheny Christmas Party.

Thank you for supporting the 2021 effort....  If for some reason you had planned on sending something this year and it slipped by, please hold off at this point for this year, however, we hope to be able to count on your support for next year's (2022) event.

Not having the Party is very disappointing, beyond that, it could not be better. Donations came at the perfect time and very generous. All the students have been adopted. All the asked for electronics will be bought this week.  We hope to deliver all on the 16th, but there will be some back ordered gifts delivered later, hopefully before the 25th. Some items are tough to get.

Thank you all. Be proud to be a member of the 3 Wides Family, a lot of good people out there. Each year we ask and you come through. There are many friends that make this all happen and it's fun and rewarding being a part of it.  Next year is our 35th Party, it will be on December 17th, 2022. Let's hope there is a Party, otherwise gifts only again.
