Agree with Steve, red #97 coupe Bill Altonen. He ran that same car at EWS and Flem 1972 ish during a Wall drivers boycott againt Jenny Nicol. The Modified owners were demanding a purse increase. He towed it to the track witha an open trailer with his yellow Ford LTD! |

Pic 5 - very rare that Bob Rossell was in a wreck, let alone in his own equipment!!! Guessing pic was taken in 1969 or 1970 |

Agree, very rare to see Rossell in a wreck. I think he stopped using square tubing after he broke his leg. Or maybe the rules changed on square tubing. If I remember correctly, and it is a long time ago, all the cars he built for Cagle had square tubing. |

I could be wrong but I think thats Don Stives in the former Bobby Brack 57. Stive's owner, Joe Smith of Mt. Holly, bought the 57 which became his 2nd white #39. There's a photo of both of Smith's 39s at Trenton on page 7 in the 3Wide "Gettin There" section. The #35 in the 3rd photo is the Peak's Garage # 235. I believe Wall didn't allow 3 digit numbers at this time. The #5 sedan in the 3rd photo was owned by Matty McMann. The 5 may have been driven by Tommie Elliott. I believe the Norcia 81 in the 4th photo is the same chassis as the 81 in the 1st and 3rd photos, but with a different body. Scott Ely |

That had to be an All Star race because Tom O'Rorke, Wall's usual pit stewart and Sam Estlow, usual assistant flagger were working in regular clothes and you could see All Star pit steward Big Bob O'Rourke in the background. Ray Sullivan was probably the flagger. |
