The 666 has a aframe front end design wae that the hot set up for syracuse or was straight axle better

I don't think the independent front end was much of an advantage at the time but once guys started to sort it out and figured out things like bump steer, camber gain, etc. I think it could have become a useful tuning tool. I think the solid front axle was a bit more durable but if it was a way to go faster, durability would go by the wayside. Fortunately or unfortunately, however you want to look at it, Donnelly felt the need to ban it like he did alcohol, injectors, 15" tires, etc.
