Daniel Meservey Sr., New England mini modified racer, champion and family man from West Chatham, Massachusetts passed away on February 17, 2022 leaving behind his loving wife Sharon, several children and grandchildren. Dan was known in New England as Mr. Mini Stock driving his trademark Coca Cola red number 11A mini modified. He would travel down to New Jersey for the AMSA mini stock club events when they ran the pavement tracks of Dorney Park, New Egypt and Wall Stadium. His racing career spanned more than 50 years; something that few can lay claim to. The Meservey name continues in the New England racing scene with Dan Jr., Doug, Brett, and Doug Jr. Dan would have turned 80 on March 16^th. God Speed Danny. Heaven got themselves another great wheelman.

When I promoted New Egypt in 1991, Dan would tow all the way from Mass. to race on a Wednesday night for $250 to win. Dan was as nice and gentle as he looks. He was "Mr. Mini Modifed", whenever I would see them at a track or in the paper I would think of Dan. Would always say hello when I saw him at different speedways, especially Thompson where he raced, ran the division for the track and watched over his up and coming son, Dan Jr..   Rest in peace Dan.

He definitely had that laid back Cape Cod personality, and was one hell of a driver.  May he RIP.
