I'm sure that many of you feel the same way. Back in the day we spent every Memorial Day racing or spectating at Flemington Speedway. There were a few different choises to race Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but on Monday, the show was in Flemington NJ. The pits and stands were full to the brim. Those days are long gone but are some of my best memories.

Especially 1978, right? One of the best races I've ever seen. Still remember how hot it was that day.

Memorial Day and Flemington Speedway just went together like peanut butter and jelly, we had it made back then.I still tell people about those shows, those that never went will never understand. You just didnt go to Flemington, you lived it...it was a happening,a hangout,an addiction unlike anything else I have experienced in racing, enjoy your Memorial Day weekend everyone.

Looked forward to it ever year. All the cars from out of town against the regulars. No time trials bs, make the show or go home.  Modifieds only no other division all run in a few hours.  Grandstands were full back then.

Now tracks have 200 lappers spread out over the weekend, less cars fewer fans. No more Memorial Day shows.
