Closest I ever came to that was the 2007 Gatering Of Mustangs And Legends in Columbus Ohio.  76 P-51's flew in with many other warbirds.  I was there 3 days and wished I had stayed for the 4th.  I can't imagine seeing the amount of Spitfires shown in this video all in one place.  Here in North America you are lucky to see one at an airshow.  Always wanted to get to Duxford for their show, but I know I'll never get there.  Guess WWII Weekend in Reading will have to do, this year was our 27th there.  By the way, I read this morning the August 30th airshow at the New Garden airfield in  Pa. will have a real, [not Tora, Tora fake] A6M Zero and FG-1D Corsair.

Oh well, back to my 2,000 plus images from WWII Weekend.

The CAF Checkerboard Corsair had a bird strike on Friday as soon as he took off.  He circled around and landed immediately.  Heard it damaged the flaps on top of the cowling and they didn't get it repaired until Sunday.

I saw it by the far hanger. Heard it was either landing gear or bird.

You aree welcome.  Also a Corsair is scheduled for a heritage flight with a F/A-18 at Atlantic City in August.

Do they plan on having the air show at Monmouth Jetport this year? The only information about a show was from 2019.

I don't think you will ever see the Collings aircraft at Monmuth, or anywhere again after the fatal crash of their B-17 a few years ago.

I did two 30 minute rides in the Collings Foundation's P-51C "Betty Jane".  Dual control, so I did get a little stick time.  Very cool!!!!
