Attended OCFS Sat with my wife, it was her 1st time to OCFS. Likes : $16 adm for Seniors. Approx car counts - 36 Spts 4 heats 2 consis, 38 BB Mods 3 heats 1 consi, 19 Street Stocks Feature only, 32 Small Block Mods 3 heats (1 was already ran a few weeks ago) and 1 consi.

Good Maxwell food, good lighting now too. New bathrooms and aluminum seating on spectator side. The new surface is fantastic! The tires up against the outside wall between turn1 and 2 were removed. The inside wall in turn 2 was re-radiused to match the outer wall. Track is semi banked, with tacky reddish brown clay. Smooth and slick, minimal dust. It was cloudy so the track did not really dry out too much. Only a 15 min intermission. All classes, including the Street Stocks were racing 3 and 4 wide all night long in the turns and straights. Track slowed down about 1.5 seconds a lap as the night went on as it slicked over. Sheppard won BB Mods by 1/2 car length over a hard charging Perrigo, 30 laps no yellows! Cars could race up by the wall, in the middle or down low.

I have attended races here since 1976, this was the best racing I have ever seen here. Mods fet was done at 8:45. Also it was my first time in the Drive In Section.

Dislikes: Ends up being a $125 night, with gas and tolls. Disposible income only goes so far now. Used to go to races 3 or 4 nights a week, now lucky to go once a week. You could count the # of fans on spectator side, not more than 500. More people were in the pits and drive in. I don't know what they can do to get more fans. Had to leave after Mods to get home and get up at 4 AM Sunday.

My wife loved it, we hope to return in a few weeks when they have the ESS Sprints. Who would have thought that back in the day that OCFS would have out lasted our beloved EWS, Naz, and Flemington.

Thanks and that's great to hear. It was beyond bad the last few years and getting worse everytime they ran. Hopefully Jeramie Corcaran can right this ship and get the fans back. The car counts are amazing, to todays standards, every week at OCFS. The fans just do not go, even for their big shows.

The drive in is one of the best things in racing. Set up a nice deal with food and friends up there, it makes for a great way to watch a race. Now when they figure out how to empty the infield, it will only get better. The CO- VID years, where the infield was empty, was much better. The large car counts hurt an alternate pit area. 8' trailer height limit on the infield, the guys will conform.
