Looking through this week's AARN I see "Chris Buffalino" listed as the winner in the Junior Slinghot division at Spirit Speedway (the inner track at Bridgeport.) While I know he's been running 1/4 Midgets for the past few years, I'm pretty sure that was his first time in a Slinghot... The Buffalino Family are a great racing family with Dom, Jesse, Tony, Dom Jr... and now Chris (Jesse's son) all figuring out the fast way around a dirt track at one time or another.... Folks who have been visiting our site here for a while probably already know that my dad and I used to stop by the garage at the corner of Tices Ln and Old Bridge Turnpike where they worked on the #2B back in the mid 70's. (I was probably about 14 or so....) They'd give me the drained oil from the racecar each week in a 5 gallon pail so I could use it in my woods car which burned just about as much oil as it did gas! Super racing family... Congratulations to Chris! |

For me, when it comes to great names in racing, "Buffalino" ranks up there with "Reutimann". Congrats to Chris on his, I'm sure, many victories. Joe, regarding you running used oil in your "woods" car, that could be the first known act of recycling. If not the first, its gotta be close! Scott Ely |
