Last year, 2021, while visiting my sons in the Tampa area we went to Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park a bit west of Tampa.  The special show that night was the Figure 8 group, which I'd never seen beyond the old Islip TV shows, and assumed would be like a crash-fest ... but I was completely off-base and pleasantly surprised.  The Figure 8 cars were really something and exciting, not for the "X", but for the racing and the cars.  The seemingly limited rules and individuality of them, and competiveness was terrific.

Also on the card was the FL sprints.  Too few of them and not too interesting.

The modifieds, like the IMCA style cars, with limited aero additions
were pretty good..

The best races of the night were the classes and heats, and features for lack of a better name on my part, the "Cop Car" class.  The number of cars running and their competitiveness, the sound of the Detroit V8 motors all made for very exciting racing.

Looks like a good field for the old police cars. Probably enough old Crown Vics in this area to create a class. Easy to phase out a street stock or limted late model class that has gotten out of hand. Replace them with old cop cars and keep them on narrow tires would draw cars. Thanks for sharing the photo's

Exactly ... The Crown Vics, Grand Marquis were plentiful at the track and they were really good races.  They run mini-type stocks there too but the "Cop" cars had bigger fields.  Hardly and breakdowns or wrecks the two nights that I was there.  I really enjoyed them.

I'm glad that you liked the pix.
