Thanks for all the well thought out replies to Kevin Eyre's "How Many Speedways Have You Been To" question.  I had never given it much thought, but it was kind of cool to sit down and llist them out...  Lots of good memories, and a little sad when you think of how many are no longer in operation.

As a follow up to the track count post, here's a part 2 question for those who want to continue the discussion:

1.  Name a track that is currently open/in operation that you haven't gotten to yet, that you would like to get to see a race at.  ___________________

2.  Name a track that is currently open/in operation that you have been to, that you really would like to get back to see at least another event at. _____________________________

I'll go ahead and answer by saying:

1.  Never been to Knoxville, but would like to go.

2.  Would like to get back for at least one more Indy 500.

1) This one is tough to pick just 1. I would say for me it would be to make a trip to California and get some some of the sprint car tracks. (Perris, Ventura, Stockton,etc.) PS: Now that I'm retired and living in North Carolina it opens up a multitude of tracks I can add down here.

2) I achieved this recently with my most recent trip out to Missouri, Kansas and Iowa. I went to the Knoxville Nationals in 1989 and attended this year with my son. Knoxville Nats. is a must. The Museum, meeting folks from other states and the atmosphere. Where else would you go to a Walmart and fine NOS WoO drivers signing autographs, selling Knoxville tee shirts and teams working on their hot rods in the parking lot + The Dingus.

I live in Kernersville. Thanks to Frank A. Jr, my brother in Thomasville,NC and my brother-in-law in Smithfield NC I have hit a bunch of tracks down here. Any info on the tracks down here would be great. I would appreciate the info. Thanks, Jim-Bob

Appreciate the info. I'm planning on going to Tri County this year for a scheduled SMART modified race in October. This would be a new track for me. I also plan on going to the Hickory SMART tour race in October as well. I went to Hickory many years ago and look forward to going back. I hit Friendship a few years ago when I came down for the intial ROVAL cup race at CMS. I know 311 has some trouble right know, not sure if anything is gonna happen this year. I'm gonna see what happens. Hopefully some shows will happen in the future. Thanks again, Jim Bob

Return to Baps to race again ...

1. I have never been to Port Royal and would like to see one of the touring super late model races there.

2. I would like to return to Big Diamond again. There is something about these "need a little work" type race tracks (Grandview is one also) that I find interesting. The racing is always good and the fans are die-hard racing enthusiasts.

 Brewerton. Went a few times during Super dirt week, never a stand alone show.

 Bowman Gray, just to appreciate how healthy asphalt can be.

Would like to get to Indy for the 500, Eldora for the World 100, and Thunder Road in Vermont.

Hear for a Thursday night track the place is packed and good racing on asphalt.

Would like to get to : Can Am Speedway in Larfargeville NY. I remember seeing a couple episodes of "This Week on Dirt" that were broadcast from there and i remember being intrigued by how "professional" it seemed and how fast the cars appeared to be going there. Granted, it may be a run down shack by now, but i'd still like to go check it out.

Would like to return: All Tech Speedway in Lake City FL. - Enjoyed the races on a well prepared track that had great sight lines with cheap beer and food. Will attempt to return this year if Deyo does his Feb. jaunt to FL.

I'd like to see a F1 race live at Monaco.

I'd like to get back to Wall one Saturday night.

Currently operating:Knoxville. It was originally a tie between Knoxville and Indy, but it sounds like I'm finally going to Indy next year.

Returning track: Selinsgrove. Ironically, we raced there many times, but since Bob Beidleman stopped racing it's not the same going there. I'm sure I'll get back.

1.  Haven't been to Fairbury Americean Legion Speedway...yet

2. Would like to return to East Bay...and probably will before it closes

I raced at Moc-A-Tec, tek, tec, toc, who knows?

It was fun and the locals were very nice.
