With the demise of Five Mile Point and Grandview, the promotors of Big Diamond (Fri) Bloomsburg (Sat) and Evergreen (Sun) have a chance to resurrect the PA Tri Track series for 358 Mods. Petition Daytona Beach to get Nascar sanctioning for all 3. Keep Evergreen asphalt and run the Dirt cars on it with dirt tires. Asphalt style cars would race in a separate division at EGR. Sat and Sun could start at 6 PM to satisfy the neighbors.

Kev, in all sincerity, why "minus the NASCAR"? So much extra $ to be had and the insurance that is included in a NASCAR membership seems to be second to none.

"Susky"/ BAPS would be a good fit for a 4 or 5 Track series. Run BAPS on Thursday or more likely Saturday. Get New Egypt in on it too! However I do not feel that the current economic conditions will recover enough in the next 5 years for a 3 track series, better to settle for a 2 track series. Would throw a monkey wrench in the works if they clayed Evergreen. I am fearful for the future of all the short tracks and all types of motorsports.

When nascar came to Wall Stadium in the early 2000's, we were led to believe great insurance.  Comparing the policies, Wall Stadium had a much better policy. It may have saved the track owner some money,  but it cost the racers.  Every driver and crew had to buy an expensive license.  The point fund from nascar was ok at best but you you were basically only getting back what you put in and the teams that did not get point money, only put in. If you just wanted to show up for a race or two the temp license was pretty expensive, even crew wise.

Nascar promised all kinds of promotional stuff and we basically saw nothing. Their website pretended to cover the short track "grass roots" racing, but did basically nothing. You see how Nascar is now, not much different than.

My belief, let Brett Deyo run this. He did some asphalt at Bethel. I pretty much begged Brett to take over Wall just before he started STSS in 2012. He had no interest in it.

Thanks for the info Kev! It really does shine a different light on it. I'm guessing when NASCAR was much more "main stream" popular, the allure of being associated with NASCAR was much greater. I simply see what some of the top dogs at Grandview have gotten throughout the years and it seemed like it was a nice chunk of change.

Top Dogs is correct.  Some promoters only rely on nascar point fund money and use the tire and gas money collected for the point fund for other things and not the point fund.

You see a lot of tracks become Nascar,  than in two or three years dump them.

Would be great see it take place. However doubt Evergreen would work on a Sunday. Was there a few times and house are to close the property. Also, most race teams today have a very hard time running one night a week.

The best that probably happens is either Big Diamond switches to Saturday, or maybe BAPS runs the Modifieds on Saturday nights. Most likely is most teams will just find a new track to compete at, while other teams call it a career.
