Anthony, Was that race combined with the fair?  Pretty short distance as a stand alone.

Yes Kevin as I remember it the Fair was on at that time. The 4th of July race was a 25 lapper but I'm pretty sure the Sprintcars/ Supers were there on the 4th as well. These pictures are from 77 or 78 or one of each.

Miss those days.  East Windsor Friday, Flemington Saturday, Esat Windsor Sunday, Syracuse Monday day show, and Five Mile Point Monday night on the way home.  And how about this. ALL with the same car.  Unheard of today.  Good time helping Kerry Schloder with the K46.

Just for anyone that does not know Five Mile Point is closing down after the National Quarter Mile Weekend Finale. Still a few shows left but look for updates.

From their site - https://5milepointspeedway.com/2022-upcoming-schedule

"Saturday, October 1st (may be used as a rain date if one of the first two events are lost due to weather).

Modifieds are scheduled for October 29th and may have additional shows added.

November 2022 - Complete closing sale of all equipment, lights, fixtures, bleachers, freezers, coolers, indoor seating, storage containers, over 350 concrete blocks from 4 foot to 8 foot sizes, portable buildings, portable light towers, light generator, ambulance, tow truck.  All items being sold with the hope they can be used at other facilities. What doesn't move will be scrapped. Call us for details or to set up an appointment to inspect. "

Also recall seeing the dead heat in the URC sprint car feature at Flemington on Labor Day afternoon between Earl Haliquist and Dick Tobias (1968?)

Remember one Labor Day, went to Bridgeport in the afternoon and Flemington that evening. Frankie Kerr competed in both shows with his number K54 Modified. Also remember doing a Port Royal then Selinsgrove double on Labor Day to watch the Super Sprint cars - it was so long ago that they might have still had Big Block engines!
