New Egypt Speedway management closely monitoring the impending weather

With the 10th annual All Star Cup Shootout scheduled for this Saturday, the management of New Egypt Speedway is closely monitoring the approaching weather system and Hurricane Ian. Although the current forecast for this weekend is less than favorable, tropical systems can be unpredictable, & we are committed to taking a wait and see approach.

“We have had a lot of interest from competitors and fans alike & we are committed to running this race if at all possible,” stated GM Mark Blackwell, “ We want race teams from all around to have the chance to try out our fantastic new surface and see what all the excitement has been about!”

The forecast currently shows rain coming in early Saturday but a slight change in the track or speed could push it back. With this in mind, NES will wait until late Friday or Early Saturday to review the forecast and make a decision.

The All Star Cup Shootout 100 lap Modified event is scheduled for this Sat evening, with gates opening at 4pm and the first race at 6pm. The crate 602 Sportsman and the 4-cylinders will also be in action.

Just a suggestion, if the storm slows it's path maybe try to move the start time up to say, 4:00?
