Looks like Denny had a spanking after his comments on Saturday about the safety and leadership of Nascar. Just read his comment regarding his meeting with Steve Philps. Looks like the leadership at the top that he bad mouthed is now ok with him. Looks to me like he lost the pair that he found on Saturday.

several years ago NASCAR came down hard on Ryan Newman for dissing the organization. Telling him the organization would not tolerate such behavior from drivers.  Insinuating the integrity of the sports leadership is never a good idea.

i think what has happened is the head injury deal really came to light when Dale Jr. had to retire because of it. Prior to this Jerry Nadeau, Mike Alexander, Steve Park and Ernie Irvan had to retire because of head injuries. They did seem to be ignored by NASCAR. However from what I have read concussions are difficult to prevent. I think it has to do with movement of the brain inside the skull. And some people are more prone to concussions then others. Football has the same problem.

when it comes to race car safety I do agree with Hamlin that driver input is quite necessary. But it should not be aired in public. Just my opinion.
