PB Jr- Great shots from the past!  I believe thats Hank Goranson (#36) and Lee McBride (Al Whitehouse's #90) in the 3rd photo at Flemington.  Scott Ely

I agree Scott on Hank Gorenson in the #36Jr, and I think that is the Al Whitehouse #90 (or maybe a former Al Whitehouse #90?) but it doesn't look like Lee McBride behind the wheel...  Pretty sure Lee was a little wider and wore glasses.

Here's a close up:

(Almost looks like Al Michalchuk based on the helmet & driving suit, and physical size, but I don't ever remember him driving the #90 unless it was a one time deal.)

Another Vault Mystery for one of you guys out there to solve.... Smile

Thanks Steve - That makes sense - I remember Bob driving the #90 and also the yellow #89 and I think he had a full face helmet like this back then.

I think that's Phil in the #34 checking the strength of the Wall....  His cars at one point had "Foreign Express" written on them I think...  I remember calling on "Foreign Express" which was a repair shop in Middlesex NJ back in the late 80's where Phil worked.  I was supposed to be trying to sell Allen diagnostic analyzers but instead, was probably too busy talking racing with Phil....Laughing

I remember that place on Rt 28 in Middlesex.   Didn`t even realize it was gone.

Those sportsman heats back in the early 80's were some of the best racing.  You would see new guys coming every week.

A lot of first turn flips, and never seeing them again unfortunely.
