I only saw those guys race at pocono roc, but read everything I could find on them. What a thrill it must have been to go to a regular saturday night show and have these guys show up.Definitly worth the price of admission! |

1978. You just rattled my memory, I think I took that picture as Geoff was limping down the backstretch damaged. Not sure on the Pete LaVance story, but if I run into Richie LaVance I will ask if he remembers it. From Wiki In 1978, Bodine won more races than any other Modified driver in recorded history. Driving cars owned by Dick Armstrong with Billy Taylor and Ralph Hop Harrington as crew chief, Bodine started 84 feature events and won 55 of them. Among the most prestigious of these victories were the Race of Champions at Pocono, the Spring Sizzler at Stafford, the Budweiser 200 at Oswego, both major events at Martinsville |
