The Matheny Christmas Party is scheduled for Saturday December 17th, 2022 at 1pm. We are not sure at this time if the Party will be held at the school or as a gift giving only event. It's looking very promising according to the school of a live Party, but of course it all depends on the Virus and its course.

Donations are always needed. They are beginning to trickle in. We have the school geared up to get us the lists early, so if you are thinking of donating, please do it soon.

The Party begins at 1 pm, so we encourage people to arrive no later than 12:30 pm so gifts can be organized. A small lunch and drinks will be offered before hand.

Help is always needed. We have a list of gift givers to fill first, but always need more givers.

Donations can be Gift cards to mainstream stores, especially Best Buy, or restaurants. Checks, cash, paypal, credit cards.

Tax Free donations go to: RJC Charities:  70 Albert Dr, Parlin, NJ 08859 : 9 zero eight three zero 7-4214

Non tax free donation send to Kevin Eyres :  144 Mercer Rd., Colts Neck, NJ 07722. Checks made to Kevin Eyres, cash or gift cards mail in. Call my cell if needed at 732-five eight zero-3624. Leave a message because I have a great call blocker!

As ALWAYS, THANK YOU!!!

In talking with Kevin, the hope this year (and that I told him we could do....) is to get things rolling a little earlier than usual in support of the 2022 Matheny Christmas Party.  (As you know, Kevin and his team do the heavy lifting here, and our role is to help him and his elves by providing donations that help with securing the items that will be on Santa's list this year - Your early support helps to make that happen.)

Kevin provided the specifics on how you, as a valuable supporter of this site, can participate through donation and/or possibly attending this year's party in person.

For those new to the site and/or may be unfamiar with the deep history that the short track racing community has with the Matheny School, from what I've learned it started with an idea that a very young Sammy Beavers had when visiting the school for disabled students as part of a class trip when Sam was still an elementary school student.  Sammy was moved by the experience and thought if he was ever in a position to do something to help out, he would.

Year's later, as Sam became one of the sports top racers, Sammy, along with fellow racer Mike Grbac, and racing photographer Ace Lane were able to put together a gathering to help out the students at the school.  Others that I have heard that were very instrumental in these early efforts were Ken Kuhlmann and Wendy Kennedy.

While the gatherings have taken different forms over the years (movie party, auction, and now Christmas Party for the Students), the purpose has always been consistent, and that is to remember the students of Matheny, and to help bring some joy to some very special folks.

We thank you for being part of what we refer to here as the Vault Community, and hope that whether you've been visiting us for just a few months, or as is the case with quite a few of you... for many years, that you will follow through on the request for all of us, the short track racing community, to continue to support the tradition of supporting the Matheny Christmas Party.

Please consider supporting the 2022 event by whichever of the following is most convenient for you:

Checks or gift cards can be sent to:
RJC Charities
70 Albert Drive
Parlin, NJ, 08859
Attn:  Bob Caramella   (Please Note:  Matheny School Party in the memo line.)

(RJC will return a tax exempt voucher to you if requested - (Please provide a mailing address where to send the voucher.)

------------------------------------

Donations via Paypal can be made through a link on the RJC Charities Website:   http://www.rjccharities.com/Blank.html   http://www.rjccharities.com/   (RJC will return a tax exempt voucher to you if requested - (Please provide a mailing address where to send the voucher.)

--------------------------------------

Checks or gift cards to be used for the purchase of gifts for the students can also be mailed to:

Kevin Eyres
144 Mercer Rd
Colts Neck, NJ  07722

-----------------------------------

If you'd like, please email me (3Wide @ optonline.  net  ) after you've reached out to RJC Charities, or to Kevin, and I will let them know to be on the look-out for "a something" from you.  They will follow up with an email to you so that you know that your support was received, and appreciated!

Thank you for reading this and for understanding what the support of the local racing community means to the kids at the Matheny School.  Thank you to those who started the tradition way back when, and thank you Vault Visitors for allowing our site to help Kevin and his folks keep the tradition going.
