Sad to see the racing community lost a big supporter of the Sport. Here is a little information from his Obituary.

"He was the owner and operator of John Blewett, Inc.  since its inception in 1953.  Nearly 70 years of hard work and dedication his legacy will continue. John had a love for race cars. He has been well known as the family car owner of the famous red, white and blue 76, that has been a famous icon for years. He was the guy not to mess with for decades at the tracks he attended with his son John Jr. then grandsons; John III, James R., John W.  and great grandson James D. With 300+ wins, winning was something he never got tired of.

Very sad passing. There was John Blewett Sr., then there was Granpa Blewett. The guy had a heart of gold. You NEVER wanted to be on his bad side. Rough and tough as could be, but as compassionate as could be. Very few like Granpa, ALWAYS told you how it was and how it was going to be and you did not argue it. He loved his racing and enjoyed supporting and watching his family do it and kick ass.

One night I'm spotting for Jimmy Blewett and a half dozen times Granpa is tugging at my shirt "tell him to wreck that guy!" "tell him to spin that guy (another guy) out!" I had to keep my mouth shut and just yes him or that 80 year old guy would have kicked my ass!  Of course I did'nt tell Jimmy what he was telling me to do, but I sure told Granpa I did! Jimmy won and Granpa gave me a "Good job" and handshake. That was enough.

Rest in peace my friend.
