It has come to our attention that there has been some speculation that New Egypt Speedway will not be running sail panels for our Modified division in 2023. This is absolutely not true, we are a sail panel track and will continue to run sail panels in the foreseeable future. Thank you.

Let the car owners vote on the car specifications and let the drivers vote on race procedures like Lindy did at Reading back in the day. Or they could really mix it up and let the Modifieds run a 4x4 top wing.

Doesn't matter, todays hot rods are ugly with or without.  BUT, with or without, they are the only game in town, sporstman modified wise.  Scott Ely

Unfortunately there's no promoters around like Lindy he was one of a kind very fair with the drivers and listen to the drivers and owners.

I love it, you want to look at boring divisions of cars, budget sportsmen, novice sportsmen,open,358,and big block modified all look the same .Than go watch sprint cars where 305 358 360 and 410s all look the same.Even worse go and watch late models,602 ,604 ,limited ,open, semi, steel block, late model sportsmen, and super, all look the same.Need some diversity,so that the once in a while fan can tell the difference.

Gotta keep the sponsors in mind.Panels give a lot more commercial exposure

Speaking of Sponsors. Half the drivers will race elsewhere where they do not allow Sail Panels. NES is the only track in the area that allows them in the Modified Division. The car owners have to have two different panels for each side if they travel.  Again raising the costs of owning a modified. Plus it seems either the car owners don’t care about Sponsors or the space is not needed. Personally, the panels are ugly in my opinion. But that is up to the track to make the rules.
