Did the 30 X 90(bugs) supermodifieds of the early 1960s that raced at Williams Grove, Lincoln and other tracks have to be push started?

Got me thinkin". Talked to a good friend down Virginia way. He has just come back from Talledaga for some kind of Awards ceremony.  In the Talledaga museum are cars they called "Skeeters".  Sort of the 30 by 90 cars.  Most had very narrowed 1932 Ford Sedan bodies, a HUGE wing on the top, many with buggy spring front ends and most with injected Chevy small blocks. These cars races in Georgia, Alabama, and I guess Florida in the 1960's.  VERY. VERY COOL pieces of racing history.  Gee, I wonder in the NJ MV would let you take one of them out at the Port or New Egypt.  Now, if I could only find my welding helmet!!
