There's a car that looks like this in the middle of the town of Bloomsbury, NJ. It sits next to a garage and has been there awhile. Next time I pass there I'll try to get a picture. It's a frame, body and front end and the wheels look similar. |

I was a regular at the Old Bridge drags in the mid sixties. The car doesn't look familiar and those trophies look pretty old. I looked at a photo of my car with some trophies and they look nothing like the ones pictured so I'm thinking this car raced early sixties or late fifties. I forget when they started drags there. I think Flemington only ran a few years. Here's a link to the only video I've ever seen of the drags. Mostly slow cars. Englishtown is in Old bridge Township.The video that was shown is this early Englishtown? Went to Englishtown drags a couple of times. The team I went with ended up in victory lane and received a Wally. |

The video provided is from the Old Bridge Speedway, with the cars drag racing down what looks like was the frontstretch of the oval. I never saw drag races there (saw one oval track race just before they closed in the late 60's. |

Here is a good shot showing where we ran. Notice the crowd, packed down to the finish line! To stage, you would drive acreoss the start line, back up then pull forward. The two guys standing there would hold the standard shift cars from rolling through the lights. These Mopars were obviously automatcs.At it's peak, Old Bridge drags were great. :) |
