Grosso Takes Control of New Egypt Speedway
This past Monday, January 16th, the New Egypt Speedway began a new chapter in its storied history. Rick Grosso, Jr. signed a deal acquiring control of the central Jersey facility from Fred Vahlsing. The agreement by Grosso puts the speedway back into the hands of the family that put it on the map 25 years ago when they rebuilt it into an award-winning dirt track."I am happy to announce that New Egypt is once again part of our family," stated a happy Grosso after inking the deal. "We put a lot of hard work into building the track and operating it for 9 seasons (1998-2006), and I am looking forward to regaining our reputation as the region's premier speedway."A 2023 schedule has already been put together and will be released this weekend at the Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show in Oaks, PA. NES will have a booth and will also be selling 2023 Pit passes and parking spots. Drivers are encouraged to sign up at the tracks display for the upcoming season.Grosso is currently working on putting together his leadership team and officials for this year. The same divisions from 2022 will be featured each Saturday during the season, with many exciting changes to be announced in the next few weeks. Among these announcements will be rules packages, purse structure, track and facility improvements and driver commitments to name a few. Please watch all of our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter) and our website (www.newegyptspeedway.net) for all speedway information about the upcoming season.

Lets all hope that the local politicans, and news media will support and endorse the new promotor, as though it was a new semi-pro stick & ball, soccor, basketball, or football sporting event. |

That is great news! Personally, I'm hoping a certain driver from the Stockton area returns to NES. General consesus is he got raw deal there regarding his motor. Would love to see his dad return too but don't think that's happening. Scott Ely |

Great news. I haven't been back to New Egypt since Fred booted TSRS to start his own Racesaver series. Hopefully we get a couple of races there this year. The track cancelled every wing and non wing shows on their schedule last year. Looking forward to a new era at NES. |

I don't think that can be determined by the way the release is worded. If anyone is headed to Motorsports this weekend, stop by the booth and maybe more info will be available. The question for anyone reading this, who still lives within driving range of New Egypt Speedway, based on the news above, which one best describes your plans for 2023: - Will attend New Egypt more in 2023 than I did in 2022
- Will attend New Egypt same or less than I did in 2022
- Undecided

Definitely more. I think Bridgeport is going to suffer some. Maybe Grandview too. If Jr. and either of the Godowns come there, they lose two cars and those fans. SHOW ME THE MONEY! |

I've been to NES twice, wasn't impressed enough to go back. If I start hearing good things I may attend a sprint race there (if they have any) |

Harry - your message was accidently deleted as we were deleting a few posts where folks either couldn't resist throwing in their political/social justice views, or where they were tossing around what was probably their opinion in what seemed in a factual way, about track ownership/management, but without anything to back it up. Please repost Harry, and for those who continue to not respect the request made multiple times here to not use the board for political/social messaging, and/or for those who want to post stuff like they have inside info on the topic, but who don't provide anything to support it, please visit: http://theboard.southjerseydirtracing.com/Msgboard.asp?ForumID=27&Return=Msgboard.asp&D83jsd=True or put it on your Facebook pages where I'm sure a lively discussion will follow. |

The sale is complete, good things are happening. Fred is no longer affiliated with the speedway.I ask anyone with questions to visit the New Egypt Speedway booth at Motorsports this weekend. I am very confident that Ricky is going to make this track the shining star it once was. |

The news of the changes are great wish the Grosso's well. Before I retired my home was near NES and attended regularly with my son when the Grosso's previously ran the speedway. |

At one time I was attending NES every week, but I haven't attended at all in recent years. Now that the Grossos' are back, I plan on going back at least a few times in 2023. |

The Grosso's owned the track, but Buffy Swanson was the heart of it. |
