Excellent video but look how clean a race track and the how great the site lines were. Promoters should take notice.

Thank you Karl !

Kevin- Thanks for posting this video.  Something you rarely see anymore, a 4th heat!  You're right on the mark regarding the sight line at Vineland.  Spectators had a clear view of the entire track.  Scott Ely

Pretty cool to see what the track actualy looked like in its glory. Back in the day (early 80's) there was a bunch of us from the manville /somerville area that ran karts at Shellhammers. Whenever we had a new motor we wanted to break in we would go to Vineland. We used to use the old driveway and go back in a ways through the mud and trees with our trucks. We would unload do about 10 laps at 1/2 throttle, and then high tail it out of there before the cops would come. Back then the track was still in pretty good shape. Maybe a few weeds here and therecomming up through the cracks, but no fence or any buidings.

Pretty far ride to Vineland!  We used to do the same at Old Bridge. We would sweep the inner oval for hours and test new Karts there, then rip around the half mile in our trucks! There was soooo much broken glass on the track, that was 1978, 1979, and 1980.

Nice video. I took notice the cars actually started at the Flag Stand not the Third Turn like most tracks of today!
