While out for my daily walk earlier this afternoon a thought came to mind: Is there a driver who raced modifieds on all three configurations of the big Nazareth track (Jerry Fried's original 1 and 1/8 mile dirt, Lindy's 1 mile dirt, Penske's 1 mile asphalt)? Possibly Will Cagle, Buzzie Reutimann?

Jimmy started in '73, the Fried version closed in'71. Thought about Brightbill, not sure he ran the early track.

I would say there is no driver that raced all three. If there is one he would have to have been extreemly young on the 1-1/8. Someone like Leroy Amy but I don't know. How about an owner?

It's possible that Carl VanHorn ran all 3.

I'm wondering if Sammy Beavers ran the last version?

Billy Pauch didn't start racing until 1974, Nazareth origina configuration closed in 1971.

Couldn't let this go, and may have an answer! Richie Eurich finished 3rd in two of the 25-lap features held 9-4-83 on the dirt mile. He finished 13th on 4-28-91 in his #10 on the asphalt mile. Now it gets interesting: he was the 1971 modified champion at the Nazareth half mile. And 1971 was the last year of racing on the 1 and 1/8 mile dirt. I'm thinking it's totally possible that he raced the big track during at least one of the five races held that year. Can anyone confirm his competing at the big track in 1971?

Greg you beat me to it. I've been thinking about this all day and I also believe Richie Eurich could be one. I wasn't sure he ran the asphalt though. Another I believe could be there is Bill Wilson. Again though I don't know about asphalt era.

I was thinking about Lou Lazzaro, or maybe Merv or Roger Triecler? Maybe Gart Bettenhausen.

Pretty sure Buzzie did (last time in the 60).  Guessing Cagle.  Most likely Chamberlain.  Possibly Fredd Adam also.  Here is a shot of Charlie Shire there in 86 so I believe he did.  Did Schneider give it a try also?

Frankie Schneider possibly. I know for sure the 1-1/8,1 mile dirt. I think he mightve run Mataka Bros. 3n1 on asphalt.
