So, after all of the justified complaining about the clash, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding performance of Ryan Preece.  Put him in good equipment and the man can flat-out drive.  I'll be pulling for him this year!  Thanks Smoke!

As an aside, I got so sick of the cautions that I switched to the local news at 10:00.  By the time it was over, i switched back to FOX and mercifully the clash had ended.  I think the Hobby Cars at Dorney Park put on a much more professional show!

Extremely talented. Works very hard on his cars.  Understands the chassis. Super nice "kid". (Not much of a kid anymore.) Champion in two or three years or when he moved to Hendricks. Not sure Stewart Hass is championship caliber.

its always nice to see a new face do well.

I am not particularly fond on Tony I do think he is good for all of racing. I don’t know when the guy sleeps. Track owner, WOO owner, drag racing team owner, Cup team owner and All Star and SRX series owner. He truly loves the sport.

I agree that Preece made the Northeast proud.  Regarding the Clash, I don't see it staying at the LA Coliseum 1/4 mile track past 2025.  The cup cars are too big and too fast.  Just my opinion.  Scott Ely

I really think the stands had a bunch of real nascar fans. Then the majority of of the young people were there just for the spectacle and something to do. And maybe catch some old school rap artists.

We met Ryan Preece at the tour mod race at Richmond 2 years ago.  After time trials they had autographs/pictures for the kids in the garage area.  My son, also Ryan, made a B line to meet with Preece first b/c that's one of his favorite drivers.  He spent several minutes talking w/ my son as he told Ryan all about his quarter midget racing.   Our one car was lettered up by the great Henry O'Neill to look like the Charlie J/Preece colors of his tour mod!  Very nice guy, wish him health, wealth and happiness!!

Ryan put a bad taste in my mouth while watching a truck race  He was leading and a new up and comer made contact. So he did noit win   But what he said in an interview is what stuck. He start talking  bad about the other driver who was going for his first win He said I DO THIS FOR A LIVING.

Does he not remember how he felt going for his first win  The other driver also would like to be DO THIS FOR A LIVING  So I said my piece Yes I hope he does well but useyour choice of words or he will have people hating him

Well, if it's the same interview I saw, he got punted out of the lead by a young driver and then when interviewed after the race, he was honest enough to show some emotion in a professional manner, and if I remember specifically, he said something lile "To all the young drivers out there, Don't do that."

I think Ryan was hoping, the same way I used to hope, that somehow NASCAR could have events where drivers are not rewarded for taking out competitors, causing big wrecks, who then often to go on to victory lane by making moves like Ryan was referring to, rather than being penalized, and/or maybe thinking twice the next time they make a move that has little to no chance of working.

"Boys have at it usually ends up with who ever has the deepest pockets, (or whoever's daddy has the deepest pockets) will be around the longest, and that has not been Ryan's situation.  The announcers said he actually took out a 2nd mortgage on his house to get a few shots behind the wheel of the Gibbs #18 xFinity car a few years ago, as his last chance at showing his ability, in hopes of getting the exposure needed to possibly land a quality cup ride.

At this point, it looks like it paid off, and hopefully so is his 2nd mortgage!
