If you think you know who the driver is in the picture below, please answer by providing the "Initials Only" so that way others will have a chance to think about it for a while...

Here's a little closer look:

We'll post the name that's listed on the back of the photo in a few days.

Remember - Answer with "Initials Only."

Thanks for playing the home version of Wall Mystery Trivia. Laughing

Well, I'm not sure who it is, but here's what it says (although mis-spelled) on the back of the photo:

I wasn't there in 1976, so I'll leave it up to you "Vault Detectives" out there to continue with the investigation... Undecided

Thanks for the answers received.

Wow.   Not sure they were related but if I run into PLV's son in Florida I will ask.

I was at Islip that day (the only day I ever went to Islip - 9/15/1977) when Frankie drove Harbach's car. Had to be an All Star race, maybe 200 or even 300 laps. Fred drove the yellow #60 Troyer chadsis car that day, forgot the car owners name.

While you're at it, now that the initials only part of the game is over, you can let us all on on who PV (?) is.

I would have guessed the intials of the driver of the #X5 were "GS." Surprised

First I  think we all say the car John LaVance. And my guy is really wrong Tony Cranmer was bigger but was friends with JLV.  I asked about Pete LaVance (flag man at Wall) being related. I don't think so.  Think PLV had brother John who was at Wall too.  Kevin said he asked Pete son.  PLVs two boy one girl?  Plvjr?  JLV #5 car was from Tuckerton.

Now F.S. at the wheel TD?  Just maybe - so here's how JLV did business (race cars) with Blair.  Blair and F.S. Long long history together.  I'm not saying it was that way, just thinking out loud.  I ran in JLV jr about two or three years ago.

Joe, PV was Pete Lavance, former driver, flagged for a good part of the 70's, then crewman for John Blewett Jr when he was racing on Long Island in the late 70's due to probably a suspension from Wall.

Russ, yes 1977 Islip 300. My brother just got his drivers license and we took the 5 hour trip to Islip...yes we were lost!   And yes Richie won.
