Thought I would share these with you. I thought it was interesting from a couple of non race fans who basically tune into Daytona and Indy.

Their questions to me really challenged why I even watch.

-How can someone win a race without racing across the finish line first under the checkered flag?

-With all the griping I have done about stick and ball sports and their endless replays and proudly saying racing doesn’t waste time with replays, they took me to task. Not only do they use replays, replays are used to determine a WINNER!! Thanks NASCAR. I’m the fool. (I was really referring to our Friday and Saturday night short tracks, but they really have no idea about those.)

-Why not let them finish under green? They were observant enough to note the crash was behind the leaders.

-A yellow light determines a winner? Makes no sense no matter how they want to twist it.

-Who is responsible for the yellow light? What prevents them from waiting until a specific driver is leading to turn on the yellow light?

-What's with these yellows when there is no crash? They were referring to stages.

I thought they were valid questions and finally said you'll need to contact NASCAR as NASCAR make no sense to me.

My question is why won't they go back to the business model that they had when the stands were full the tv ratings were highest instead of all the cocamamie wwe gimmicks we see now? I attended my last Nascrap race back in 1994........stopped TV viewing 2008.   Ford Chevy Mopar.........ok I'm ok with Toyota.......stop the stages, stop the IROC cookie cutter cars, stop the coliseum and all the woke efforts. They alienated the demographic that built the mega sport it once was.  Many of the phantom yellows are to cram in more TV commercials.  Ruined it for me.  I attend weekly short track venues all spring summer and fall.....all the  southern and Elite STSS I can mostly featuring dirt mods.  Sprinters don't do it for me as much as the mods do anymore.

Did you see how hard Larson hit the fence? He hit it at the exact same angle as Earnhardt. With all the talk about the cars being unsafe, I think it was prudent that they threw the yellow.

By the way while were talking about ending the race under yellow and Earnhardt,....... Remember, back in the so called "good ole days", they used to end races under the yellow all the time. In fact, thats how Earnhardt won the 500.  I'm just sayin.

So they've managed to annoy their old fans and confuse any potential new fans. Excellent job NASCAR, no one is satisfied. I was 10 when the 1976 Daytona 500 ran. I'm still angered at that finish. I think I'm just as angry at yesterdays finish. A total Clown show. But why should I even be surprised?

NASCAR has made a lot of changes to soften the front and rear clip areas of the car in hopes to stop the injuries that happened last year and Nascar footed the bill to do it. As far as the crashes you have to buy everything from approved suppliers and NASCAR gets a nic from all the suppliers just like they do from Goodyear. Goodyearwas getting 200 dollars a tire years ago, bet it is more now. Why do you think there were soooo many cautions for debris that no one ever saw. Do the math 800 dollars x 40 cars ....With that in mind do you you think they care how many cars are destroyed. I think not.

Soft walls and added in car protection are both great.  Now let's come up with a way to get these "super speedway" cars to race without being up each other's butts!  That has to equate to less crashes, which is better on the owner's bank account.  Scott Ely

They have no incentive to change as long as they are making money from what they are doing until we have another loss of a driver or God forbid some fans in the stands.

Have you ever seen the mountain of used NASCAR tires behind the 3rd turn? They don't go to the dump, they go to the recap shop. Everything there is a money making machine for NASCAR. I don't know how NASCAR gets away with such total control and gets away with NOT being the employer. Any other  business man knows the slim rules for 1099 subcontractors.

The recap shop...Who gets to run them??   Nazareth back around 1983 - 84 we had to run Towel City recaps and they were old cup Super speedway casings... You ran the left rear about 4lbs and it looked like it had 25..Worst junk I ever had to run..They chased most teams away and the rest is history...Its gone...Main person pushing for those tires was Frankie to save money... Nobody raced Nazerath to make money...End of story..
