Stan lost his battle with cancer early Saturday morning. He was my friend. Not just a guy I built a car for, a guy that I could hang out with or talk to on the phone and reminisce about some great times. One of the few people that called me "Johnny", lol. A guy that my dad would actually lend a motor to without wanting anything in return, just to run the hell out of it and spend days building headers to fit a big block in a late model because he genuinely respected his abilities behind the wheel. A guy that always had plenty of help at the shop because he was just one of the guys...a real sense of humor but very quiet until he knew you. I always thought he had the talent to go further, it just didn't work out that way.

I'm sure I'm speaking for a lot of people when i talk about what a good friend he was and a fun guy to hang out with and a helluva racer...and I've spent all day thinking about him and Kim and his son and daughter...a lot of people are going to miss him...I think about that 50 lapper he won at Grandview, the work we all put in to get ready for that race, changing a transmission after warmups, missing the heat, qualifying thru the consi, starting in the back, getting caught up in a tangle and going to the rear and blasting thru the field to take the lead with about 5 to go...he wanted that race so badly and won it...so many other stories,,winning an open comp race at BP, battles at Nazareth...God it was fun..and now it's over and a lot of us are going to miss the guy. Godspeed Stanley, you were one of the good guys...

So sorry to hear about Stan. I met him a couple times, like you said a great guy. I remember years ago I was lettering a truck at a dealer I worked for and this guy working on a truck beside me kept looking at me, I finally recognized him as Stan. Spent the rest of my time there talking racing of course. Sorry for your and everybody else's loss, RIP.

John is right, Stan was a great guy.  When I raced with him it was the best. He had talent.  I had a lot of respect for Stan and still do.

Growing up on Strimples Mill Rd.Stan was a neighbor an good friend.  Haven't seen him in years but run into his mother or brothers and ask about him.  When Stan started racing I had a 1964 Chevrolet which I gave to him to build street stock to compete in at Nazareth on Friday nights.   Ran well but seemed to be under powered.  When Flemington started the late models Stan used that same car to win his very first feature.  From there he became a true talent in that division winning races at Flemington, East Windsor, Grandview, and racing in the Charlie Bray shows at Nazereth, Penn Can, and Moc-A-Tech.  Stanley rest in peace old friend.

My condolences to the friends and family of Stan Janiszewski.  You can't think of East Windsor Speedway in the first 1/2 of the 80's and not instantly think about what Stan did behind the wheel of his Late Model.

We were fortunate to have Stan at the 2012 Legends event at New Egypt Speedway, where Stan had the opportunity to meet fans, who like me, will always remember his winning ways in the "Easy Money" #76A.

So sorrt to hear of Stan's passing.  Only saw him run a few times at Windsor but always thought he had the coolest looking late model on the track.  When I look at the photos of Stan's race car I think, "A wolf (modified) in sheep's (late model) clothing!  Another part of my favorite racing era is gone.
