In the pic with Newt Hartman beside George Unfried over Newts (his) right shoulder leaning on the wall just hanging out is Artie Lentini..Looks like the bar at the flem elks club..Been there once or twice...HtH |

I'm glad these are bringing back memories for you David. They sure do for me too. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be getting into the meat of this tire with the heavy hitters. Not that the lesser stars are not important. Those guys all helped to make the races at Flemington all that more enjoyable. And Howie, that is Artie in that picture. Here's another one from that night. The guest speakers were Lenny Sammons and Ace Lane.
