I've been collecting images for years and I've got quite a collection. From really nice ones to the blurry, folded, creased, torn, you name it. I like to find the ones that you guys might not have seen before. I think I've suceeded here. Since we've been discussing the 112 lately with the for sale rumors, I thought I'd focus on that one. Here you go. Comments welcomed.

THE IMPOSTER, LOL.

Great pictures! The picture without the rear wheel shows that the chassis was pretty standard stufff.

I believe it had 2 short bars butted in center and locked with adj ends or possibly welds std coilover rocker deals like his earlier chassis all had..Im curious if it had a W link on RR?? also torque tube or lift bar?? always wanted to know..

I talked to Balough about it at Motorsports. It had a fixed spline in the center that the bars slid into with the adjusters out on the end. It had a torque tube.

As Weld cars go this one was very different then most. I don't know much about the offset car that Breeding drove but I believe the rest were Mig welded as where the 112 was Tigged. The bars were short and butted together into a splined coupling and held in with set screws. Kenny liked the shorter bars rather then the longer cross torsion that most of us had. The short bars had "more spring frequencies" (his words). Jacobs latter on rightside, long torque tube, closed tube rear, Ford 3 speed side loader trans, 52" drop front axle. Kenny Welds best effort for sure. Enter Don Brown to put the aero advantage body on and caught us all sleeping.

Good to hear it Howie. We've never met but I always wanted to. I don't want to highjack this thread but at some point I need to ask you about a Trans that my father got for John Burnett.

Being a guy that helped on a limited sportsman with a transverse front spring and rear leaf springs, I really enjoyed these posts regarding the Batmobile.  It got to me to thinking about Troyer and Teo (the "David brothers") competing against Bicknell ("Goliath").  I wonder if Kenny Weld were around today, and with Gary Balough's drving imput, would Kenny be able to build a "better mouse trap" that would compete with Bicknell in the dirt chassis market, or at least fair better than Troyer and Teo are.  Even though technology has changed big time since Kenny's involvement, I would not be surprised if Kenny did build that better mouse trap.  Scott Ely

Weld would come in and beat everyone again further uping the ante...So much talent he had from his racing family plus he knew the right people...

That's what makes this site so great!

The Batmobile had mirrors, never saw that before. Pretty big ones too.

When was the last year they ran mirrors?

Fried banned mirrors at Nazareth just after Jackie McLaughlin's fatal accident in 1964.

Frankie Schneider ran a mirror into the '70's at Nazareth. Hager knocked it out of the car with a hammer one night.
