I thought it might have been the driver's name on the helmet, but looking a little closer, I think it says, "God Bless"just above the American Flag.

I have no idea for sure but the name Jim Fowler sticks in my head as a driver in the #16. I do know however that Monty Wernett was in the #17 passing by.

Not Fowler, car is too modern and good looking! Jim was still running a sixties era Trevis in the late eighties.

In one pic you can see the old buggy spring front end and also wishbone style rear radius rod mounts and bolt on cage...appears to be 70s car???

URC required cages starting in 1970, wings were allowed in 1971. Car flipping had a wing, other did not, so I'm saying 1971 or later. Apparently not everyone thought wings were necessary.
