AF lV- You must be proud of your Dad.  I had the pleasure of meeting your Dad back in the day when I delivered tires to your shop for Raceway Speed Center.  For me, it was exciting to meet the man behind one of the iconic modifieds of the day.  I couldn't believe how friendly your father was.   It surprised me that your dad took an interest when I told him I was helping my neighbor with his limited sportsman.  Reading Earl Krause's AARN article brought back memories of meeting your dad.  I'm very proud to have met your dad and to have spent a few minutes talking racing with him.  Scott Ely

Thanks for the kind words about dad. I am proud of what he was able to accomplish on a 8th grade education. He loved the racing people he would get to know over the years. Don't get me wrong though, he  had a competitive side that could get an unpleasant reaction but it didn't last.

I can tell almost the same story.  Met your Dad much later in life. He did'nt need to talk to me, but he always did when we saw each other. Always very kind. Best day was at Big Diamond in like 2015 and your Dad was there and I introduced him to Stew and Eric Mack, they were so impressed meeting him and also the fact that I knew him! I remember your Dad walking away and Stew got in the car and was like a 5 year old kid meeting Superman. Called me into the car and thanked me and of course "I can't believe you know him"  LOL

Very good article, Earl really knows how to capture the person and not just the accomplishment. Be proud Anthony and Larry.

Thanks again guys. I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere. He would have been 85 this month on the 23rd. Like I said the racing people (many post here) are the ones he loved to be around. After we sold the cars and equipment he tried to fill the void with other hobbies. He bought a boat to go deep sea fishing, bought a chopped 51 Mercury, Quarter horses (man was that a mistake!). He would now and then say to me that he really missed the race cars.

Thank you Ed for offering to send it to me but Earl called me and said he is sending me a copy.
John I'll try to text you later or just get Larry to get it to you. I hope to see everyone at the races this summer.
